Smart city projects in VietNam look for solution

 The yearly demand for new housing for Hanoi is about 4.7 million m2 and 4 million m2 for Ho Chi Minh City. The rapidly increasing middle class, expected to grow from 33 million in 2019 to 95 million by 2030, is demanding for innovative and high-end products for the apartments they buy, but also for the equipment used as furniture, kitchenware, and also for nice parks including kids playpark, swimming pools and playrooms.

New smart city areas in the largest cities of Vietnam are looking for technology solutions to implement. These is multi-million dollar investment in several large projects.

The technologies that are sought for by contractors now are:

  • Smart energy management technology,
  • Smart transportation system,
  • Smart security management,
  • Smart classroom system,
  • Smart economy and Smart life
  • Smart home and
  • Innovative urban and environmental solutions

Business Finland in Vietnam has direct contacts to the parties responsible for following projects:

BRG North Hanoi Smart City (Dong Anh), 272 ha, $4,138 billion.
Phase 1 (total 5 phases) has started on 6/10/2019. This project looks for solutions in Smart energy management technology, Smart transportation system, Smart security management, Smart classroom system, Smart economy and Smart life.

Vinhomes Smart City (Tu Liêm), 280 ha.
There are 5 main zones with 58 high-rise apartment buildings in total (29 to 39 floors).
This project looks for solutions in Smart Security, Smart Management, Smart Community and Smart Home

Keppel Land Sports City HCMC (District 2), 64 ha. $500 million.
Phase 1 has (on total 2) started on 8/11/2019. This project looks for solutions in Innovative urban solutions, Smart security management, Smart transportation system and Smart environmental infrastructure solutions.
